HOW MANY PEOPLE PAST AWAY? 185 people past away. Most of the people go killed in the CTV building.

WHAT IS THE LIQUEFACTION MADE OF? It is made of mud, sand and water. It comes up from the centre of the earth. It was mainly at the Avon river and the Horse Shoe lakes.

HOW DID THEY GET RID OF IT? They used spades, tractors, diggers, wheelbarrows, dump trucks and loaders.

WHERE DID THEY PUT THE LIQUEFACTION AND RUBBLE? Some of it went to the Frews logging yard. This picture is of only half of the liquefaction silt.

WHAT COLOUR IS THE LIQUEFACTION? It is brown, grey and watery. The liquefaction took a long time to clean up and was around the town for many months after.

HOW MANY COUNTRIES HELPED 3 countries helped. The were from Japan, Australia and the United States of America. They helped search for people and recover people’s bodies.

THE 2010 EARTHQUAKE MAGNITUDE WAS 7.1 It did not cause the same damage as the one in 2011 because even though it was bigger it was much deeper and did not shake as violently.

WHO IS THE EARTHQUAKE MINSTER? Gerry brown lee is the minister and he said it will take 15 to 20 years to rebuild Christchurch.

WHAT FAULT LINE DID THE MOST DAMAGE? The Port Hills

HOW FAR WAS IT FELT? The 6.3 earthquake was felt in Taupo

DID IT BREAK ANY RECORDS? IT IS SET ONE RECORD FOR VERTICAL GROUND SHAKING.

WHAT SCHOOL MOVED TOGETHER WITH OTHER SCHOOLS? The earthquake damaged many schools is Christchurch which meant that some schools mixed with others. One school was Shirley Boys who had to go to Papanui High School.
