Duration of the course preferred One week training and two weeks practical exposure More on updated and advanced topics Radionuclide therapy, neuroimaging
6
Thoughts on the course Quite comprehensive It was some sort of a review on the basics of NM New aspects on molecular imaging/neuroimaging I am impressed by the roster of lecturers from all over Korea, very young group so that my conclusion is the there is a vibrant camarederie among the nuclear medicine society in Korea Koreans are so generous and hospitable in sharing their expertise, the most beautiful persons in Asia in terms of leading in technology esp in the medical field

SINGAPORE-NUCLEAR MEDICINE UPDATE 2013
24
Yangon, Myanmar-Radionuclide therapy, MARCH 2013
25
Impact of the project The greatest impact is when the patient is diagnosed thru SPECT/PET procedures after undergoing several diagnostic procedures; once diagnosis is established, management of the disease is started at once When disease recurrence and additional findings that are not visible with other diagnostic modalities are noted, consequently revising and improving the course of mana-gement
26
Impact of the project The said technology has helped clinicians and nuclear medicine physicians in determining the stage of different malignancies, thereby allowing the proper treatment regimen to be started. leads to decreased patient mortality leads to decreased costs in health care delivery
27

28
Recommendations to resolve the limits Still the high cost of the procedures are primary deterrent for more referrals; also the facilities for PET/SPECT are only in Manila. Nuclear medicine is usually the last resort in terms of therapies for a lot of malignancies. partially resolved by lowering prices) The government support does not prioritize Nuclear Medicine in their agenda but more on the common ails that afflict the majority of our people. Decreasing the cost of these procedures would help in increasing the referrals. Hopefully, more hospital administrators and owners will be informed and be convinced to acquire these machines. This will make the said technology more accessible
29
Conclusion and Recommendation Information dissemination regarding PET and SPECT and even therapeutic applications of Nuclear Medicine should be continued. Lectures should be delivered to different parts of the country and to different medical specialties and layman as well. The PSNM and PNRI must be proactive in promoting Nuclear Medicine most specially to the areas outside Manila. Continue the lectures for information dissemination; appearanc on n radio and TV, fliers in the department Strengthen work force in Nuclear Medicine
