3 Background of the current nursery site The Staff Nursery and Child Day Care Services occupied the space since 2002 Accommodates 36 full day care places for 1–5 year olds and 16 school holiday full day care places for 4-11 year olds Opening times are from 08:00 – 17:30 hours, Monday to Friday throughout the year except a two week period over Christmas and Bank Holidays Users are employees of AHVLA and VMD There is the potential for employees of other organisations based on the site to use the nursery Third party persons must be escorted on site to drop off or pick up children for security reasons Contract with the current supplier expires 31 st March 2014 AHVLA Weybridge Nursery Site

4 Requirements Bids from prospective nursery operators to maintain the space as a nursery Site to be run commercially as a lease The operator will have sole responsibility for nursery services Ready to begin full operations by Tuesday, 1st April 2014 AHVLA Weybridge Nursery Site

5 Lease arrangements for occupation of property at Weybridge Occupation will be via a commercial lease, contracted out of the security of tenure provisions in the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954. A draft copy will follow shortly. The term will be for a period of 4 years, with a break clause at any time on six months’ notice by either party. The bidders will be required to pay the running costs of £93,000 pa, with Defra retaining responsibility for all aspects of the buildings. These will be the only costs payable to Defra.
