Moldova and the Czech Republic MOLDOVA – ONE OF FIVE PRIORITY COUNTRIES FOR CZECH ODA PROGRAMME OF DEVELOPMENT COOPERATION WITH MOLDOVA 2011-2017 MAIN MID-TERM PRIORITIES: Responsible governance – effective civil service, anti-corruption, administrative decentralization etc. Economic recovery – improved conditions for businesses and economic development, infrastructure investment, high value agriculture, regional development etc. Human capital – education, health care, social protection etc. AGREEMENT ON DEVELOPMENT COOPERATION Valid from April 2013

Water and Sanitation – project directions Flood prevention monitoring system - Flood Warning and River Monitoring Systems: Prut and Reut rivers Sanitation of old environmental burdens - Remediation of Environmental Burdens Caused by Pesticides – 250t in 1st phase, 200t planned 2014-2015; Remediation of the Locations Contaminated by Oil Substances in Marculesti. Rehabilitation of Waste Water Treatment systems - 3 Waste Water Treatment System handed over to municipalities (Cimišlia, Vulcanesti, Nisporeni) 5

Water and Sanitation - example Restoration of Waste Water Treatment System in Vulcăneşti Achievement: -Contemporary technology applicable on existing infrastructure -Long term solution of problems with waste water for district city Challenge: -Participation of stakeholders on all levels -Local water authority capacity building

Social service/education – project directions Projects of Home care – 5 Centres of Home care service handed over to municipalities (Cahul, Doroţkaia, Chişinău, Ţaul, Bălţi) Children left behind – Evidence based policy, trainings of all social workers, census of CLB, case management. Inclusive pre-school education – 5 Inclusive kindergartens handed over to municipalities (Orhei, Leova, Edinet, Stefan Voda)
