Expectations Being prepared each class with lesson plan, homework assignments, and examples for the lesson Organization, detailed syllabus, and outcomes each student should receive Learning Environment Comfortable, safe, engaging, positive Responsibility Gain trust of students and their parents Know all my students Collaborate with colleagues

Rules and Expectations Respect teacher, respect themselves, respect others, raise hands, be fun and creative Role of Teacher Be prepared, have visuals as examples, make use of technology, constant communication with parents, create effective activities and discussions for students to engage in Role of Student Be prepared to learn, follow rules and expectations, complete the class successfully

4 School Model “School Within a School” (Paul George, 7) Technology
Each grade “housed” in different parts of the school Switch teachers throughout the year but stay in the same area Technology SMART Boards, computer labs both in the classroom and outside the classroom 21st Century Skills Quickly access information, be well assessed with technology, be resourceful

5 Lesson Plan Begin with…. Implement Backward Design Research
Create clear, concise, and complete learning objectives Implement Backward Design Lesson plan will be created with the end in mind Will identify what I want students to learn Incorporate 21st Century skills, technology, and media

6 Assessments Integrate both formative and summative assessments
Create an online tool where students and parents can give feedback on teacher Also where parents can complete assessments on students and work given by teacher Help develop school wide assessments for all teachers
