Skills for Electronic Information Evaluation Adopt a critical consciousness Establish prior knowledge Compare and contrast information from different sites, sources, search engines, etc. Evaluate the reliability of online source

How do I evaluate a web site? Currency – How up-to-date is it? Accuracy – Is it reliable and error free? Authority – Is the author qualified? Objectivity – Is it free of bias? Coverage – How in-depth is the material?

Netiquette No personal information — name, address, etc. Do not bypass security or change settings Protect your passwords. Exit and tell if you find something inappropriate Use for school related activities only.
