2. Summary: Chapter 7
It was snowing and very cold, but David was determined to go ahead because he thought Edith Fengel in Denmark was his mother.
David realised why he had been allowed to escape. The man had loved his mother and had helped him escape because of his love for David’s mother.
During a snow storm David stumbled in on a cruel farmer.

3. The farmer made him work long hours on the farm, but he made a good friend in the farm dog, King.
The farmer locked David in the stable at night, but David started to cut through the planks and dig a tunnel through the snow.
David escaped through the tunnel, but soon saw that someone was following him.

4. 7. However, it was King who had followed him and kept him company.
