Research and evidence aims Respond to the changing face of NHS policy and practice (e.g. LINks) Embed relevant policy and practice within all our work Identify and develop evidence that informs and supports good PPI practice Dissemination Work in inclusive ways to enable this to happen

How we achieve our research aims Four main themes Theme 1 Creating a research & evidence base culture This is an overarching theme and helps to create an environment that supports and stimulates research and evidence for PPI Ensuring we have appropriate infrastructure and appropriate ways of working

How we achieve our aims Theme 2 Evidence/Knowledge for PPI This theme is about building a strong evidence base for PPI e.g. evidence around impact of involvement, measuring involvement, principles for involvement

How we achieve our aims Theme 3 Evidence into practice This theme is about the process of how people learn about PPI and how evidence is disseminated and used in practice e.g. the mapping of learning for PPI attitudes of key health workers to PPI, the barriers and enablers and career pathways of users within PPI

How we achieve our aims Theme 4 Understanding the broader context around PPI This theme is about understanding the state of PPI, the context in which PPI operates, the organisational and professional cultures. National surveys of PPI PPI in commissioning Nurses perspectives of PPI

Working with other domains in the NCI Developing infrastructure Generating evidence for good practice Contributing to the national PPI agenda Some achievements to-date
