2 Registration Return Registration form Receipt of the Student Union membership payment (voluntary for PhD students) Return forms and receipts to Elina Isännäinen, International Office, room T244

3 Student Cards Only Student Union members can order the student card Once registered in the university you will receive your student number and can order the card online at https://frank.fi/en/https://frank.fi/en/ Choose the option “I am studying for a basic degree" (Bachelor and Master students), or “I am a postgraduate student” (PhD students) in the card ordering system There are 2 card types –Basic student card, with or without payment feature- 15,10 € –ISIC combination student card - 30,10 € NOTE that ordering the card with payment feature/ISIC combination card requires a Finnish personal identity code, a Finnish mobile phone number. Using the payment feature requires a Finnish bank account with online banking service. Information available only in Finnish. Basic student card: only student number and digital photo required!

4 Student Cards You can pay the card directly in the order system with a credit card or with Finnish online bank keys If credit card payment not possible, you can pay with cash on Friday 11.9. 9 -11.30 at the International Office (T Building) –Note that card order will be delayed –Bring a digital photo on a memory-stick, your student number and the exact price of the card in cash (15,10 €) –You can only order the basic student card It takes about 3-4 weeks for the card to be ready The first cards at the Opening Fair 3.9. in Agora 9.30-16 You can follow the card order online and pick up the cards without payment feature from Student Union office when it’s ready (Mon-Thu at 11-12 and 12.30-16, Fri 11-12 & 12.30-15) Cards with payment feature are delivered to your home address If you have card-related questions, please contact info@frank.fi or jyy@jyy.fiinfo@frank.fi jyy@jyy.fi

5 Discounts You can get a certificate of registration from the check-in desk (Thu 3 Sept at 8.45-9.15, M building lobby) The certificate entitles e.g. to discounts in student restaurants before your student card is ready Before the student card arrives, a separate VR/Matkahuolto student card is required for discounts (a separate certificate needed from International Office)

6 Computer passwords If registration completed on time, the passwords and login names can be picked up from the check- in desk on Thu 3 Sept at 8.45-9.15 (M building lobby). After that, from the International Office. Bring an ID with you. If registration completed later on, the passwords and log in names can be picked up from the IT Services (MaD134 & X125)

10 Student Tutors Every new international student has a student tutor Tutor’s tasks: Contacting the student by e-mail before arrival Picking up the student upon arrival + taking him/her to the apartment Taking care of practical issues (helping with registration, visiting necessary offices...) Helping in getting familiar with the university life (university practices, how to register for courses...) Showing the university campuses and how to use the library Showing around the city Study-related issues should be asked from your own department/programme In case you encounter any problems or have questions related to tutoring, don’t hesitate to contact Sanna (international@jyy.fi)
