RITTER CONGRATULATES LAWMAKERS, COALITION OF ENERGY COMPANIES AND ENVIRONMENTALISTS FOR PASSING HOUSE BILL 1365 Gov. Bill Ritter today thanked lawmakers, a coalition of energy companies, environmentalists and Xcel Energy for their support in passing House Bill 1365, the Clean Air-Clean Jobs Act. The bill has bipartisan sponsorship with Reps. Solano and Roberts and Sens. Whitehead and Penry. This historic legislation will cut air pollution, create jobs and increase the use of cleaner energy sources.

Colorado Springs Utilities Renewable Energy Portfolio Standard –2008 Electric Integrated Resources Plan Colorado Springs Utilities’ Electric Integrated Resource Plan (EIRP) is a long-term strategic plan used to guide resource acquisition, conservation and demand-side management decisions to meet customer electric demand through the year 2027. The RPS requires Colorado Springs Utilities to generate one percent of retail sales from renewable resources starting in 2008, three percent in 2011, six percent in 2015, and 10 percent in 2020. With the existing renewable resources and purchased Renewable Energy Credits (RECs), Colorado Springs Utilities will meet the RPS through 2015.
