8 Hopes & Fears Hopes for success Fears were that we would not get any books, would not reach target. Uncertainty how to approach settings. Worried people would not believe we were serious People would not let us leave bags. That whole class would not take part. 10 Collecting the Books Bags for books issued Slips detailing project enclosed Walked round areas in city – identified schools, community centres, family centres, churches Ensured that settings were not visited by more than one student group Some did individually and some as pairs Positive Attitude Planning Confident Individuals Responsibility Following Instructions Real life Presentation

11 Sorting the Books Huge task Books kept coming in and growing. Not bag loads but boot loads! Initiative Tracking success Numeracy Meeting deadlines Organisation Team working Literacy

12 Enterprise Fiction Book Sale for ‘wrong’ donations Raised £35 for Books Abroad. Encouraged reading in the group. Remainder books donated to College’s Charity Box.

13 Organising Transportation Sorted and boxed by category Put inventory sheet on box Sealed and put into college store College drivers took to courier Courier made free delivery to Rhynie

14 Reflecting on Success Initial Target was 500 books Books collected in 8 week project …. ???? Transferrable skills for learning, life and work.
