Controlled Assessment 2 Geographical Investigation 2013 Plan I week to set up for you to start your research – print off materials, photos, tables, data, ANYTHING to use in class. 3 weeks to write up starting Monday 15 th October 2012. Deadline – Friday 9 th November 2012. No write up time, this time.

The 2012 Task How can one world heritage site outside the UK be managed sustainably? An A3 poster to highlight – 1.Location map/s. 2.What is a world heritage site? – definition. 3.Why does it attract people? – photographs. 4.Who is involved/what groups of people are the ‘stakeholders’ and what are their viewpoints/attitudes? 5.What problems does your WHS face? 6.What does sustainable mean? – definition. 7.What are the sustainable solutions? – this section will be the conclusion and needs to draw together the key questions 2,3,4 above. 8.Evaluation – this needs to be done on the sources sheet provided. A bibliography of sources. 800 words, maps, photos, diagrams, speech bubbles. Research is crucial to your success!!

Preparation What are the pressures/threats and management in place in Edinburgh and the Loch Lomond National Park? The UK National Parks – an introduction. The Norfolk Broads and Masai Mara National Parks – what are the issues and management?

Bring in any of your resources etc to use in lesson time – this is the only time you will have to do the write up proper!! Time is vital to success!!
