Our Rainforest Trip Rainforest WebQuest By: Heather Wallace Fall 2007

Introduction Introduction Where can you find an antelope the size of a rabbit, a frog that can fly, or a spider that eats birds? All in the rainforest, of course! Rainforests are home to many of the strangest- looking and most beautiful animals on earth. You’ve probably heard of some of them; jaguars, toucans, parrots, gorillas, and tarantulas all make their home in rainforests. In this webquest you are going to find out many fascinating facts about animals in the rainforest. We are going to bring the rainforest into our room and see what it looks like and how it would feel to live in the rainforest.

Task Now it’s your turn to learn something about rainforest animals. On your field trip to the rainforest you will learn: What animals live in the rainforest? Where do they live and what does their habitat look like? What do they eat? What do they look like?

Process With a partner, you will choose ONE animal from the rainforest. Make a poster about your animal. What you need on the poster is: a picture of your animal (you can print off a picture and then draw it on your poster), what your animal likes to eat, what the animal’s habitat looks like, and two other interesting facts about them from the websites I provide for you on the next slide. You and your partner will then present your poster to the class and share what you found out about the animal.

Evaluation Your grade is based out of 100 points 50 points for interesting facts about your animal. 25 points for the illustrations on the poster of your animal 10 points for creativity 15 points for presentation to the class

Conclusion Now that you know something about these animals from the rainforest, learn more about how you can save our rainforest so these animals will continue to have a home.
