6 We will depart from Ashlyns school by coach on 11 July 2015. Our ferry crossing will be from Dover - Calais Our instruments will be stored on the coach whilst travelling. We will stay at Anker hotel in Brodenbach for 9 nights, and will return home on 20 July 2015 by coach. Visit Overview Music Group Tour

8 Andernach Andernach is a very busy town on the Rhine. Our performance will be held in the attractive, pedestrianised area of the market square, which hosts various events throughout the summer. The market square is surrounded by shops, cafés and restaurants, which should provide us with a good audience. Music Group Tour Concert Venues

9 Brunnenhof, Porta Nigra Our concert will take place at the Brunnenhof which is always busy with tourist. This is the oldest double cloister in Germany and is by far the most imposing Roman building in northern Europe, it's also the biggest and best-preserved city gate of the classical period anywhere in the world and dates from the end of the second century Concert Venues Music Group Tour

10 Bad Neuenahr Bad Neuenahr lies between Bonn and Koblenz, and is approximately 90mins to 2hrs drive from the Rhineland. This venue is suitable in both warm and colder temperatures. If the weather is fine the stage will face out towards the park and if it is cooler, the stage will face inwards towards the concert hall. Music Group Tour Concert Venues

11 Boppard Is an extremely picturesque town on the banks of the Rhine. A two man chair lift takes customers up to a small café at the top and those who are feeling energetic can walk back down the hill. There is a bandstand in Boppard but we are trying to negotiate playing in the centre of the town. Music Group Tour Concert Venues

12 Ehrenbreitstein Citadel Our performance will be outside the renovated Citadel which overlooks the confluence of the Rhine and Moselle rivers. There is a cable car up the citadel which takes customers across the Rhine. The views from the top are stunning and students will have time to explore the citadel. Music Group Tour Concert Venues

13 Cochem, Enderplatz Our performance will be take place in the square of this “quaint” German town which is always bustling with tourists. The old quarter is dominated by the late-Gothic imperial castle and is dotted with medieval squares and lovingly restored timber-framed houses – architectural gems typical of the Moselle region Music Group Tour Concert Venues

14 Rhine River Cruise On this visit we will hop aboard a KD Rhine Steamer Cruise either along the Rhine or the Moselle. These cruises are a great way to see the sights and a perfect place for us to eat our packed lunches. What is There to See and Do? Music Group Tour

15 Cochem Castle Since 1978 the castle has been owned by the town of Cochem and is situated on a beautiful hill alongside the River Rhine. Qualified guides will show us the most beautiful rooms and help us to gain an insight into the history of the castle. We could take this guided tour either in English or in German with free English translation sheets. What is There to See and Do? Music Group Tour

16 Cochem Wave Pool This is a great place for pupils of all ages. It has a diving board, a wave pool and a giant 55m flume offering plenty of fun pool activities. There is also a lovely outdoor area with wonderful views. What is There to See and Do? Music Group Tour

17 The Town of Trier Trier is the oldest city in Germany and was actually founded by the Romans. Despite a turbulent history, an amazing amount of the city’s past has been preserved. The town presents a veritable encyclopedia of European architectural styles, with pride of place going to an impressive group of Roman monuments. What is There to See and Do? Music Group Tour

18 Burg Eltz Castle Eltz Castle is one of the most beautiful and best preserved castles in Germany. We will find history cast in stone and feel immersed in the spirit of the past. 22 Travel Tips Passport and E111: All students travelling must hold a full passport (these will be need to be given to Mr Nicholson on a date prior to leaving which will be finalised nearer the time) If you have any doubts about passports or visa requirements, please see me at the end of this presentation. 23 Money: The currency in Germany is the Euro. We recommend that students take between £50 and £ 100 with them on the visit in cash.
