“One building off by itself has zero impact on the world’s climate, but a building that is influential and begins to change the way that architects, engineers, contractors, developers and financial institutions shape the built environment, that’s a building that was worth building.” - Denis Hayes, President, CEO, Bullitt Foundation Founder of Earth Day Coordinator for the First Earth Day in 1970. Founded the Earth Day Network that was expanded to more than 180 nations. BACKGROUND – GENERAL INFO 3 Best practice projects needs more attention to show the direct energy reduction result and verify the latest research achievements, which is the most effective way to call the interest of officers and experts to expand the project influence.

6 there are still work that need to be done in the further : An in-depth analysis of application of existing and emerging pilot projects among APEC region. A detailed statistics of energy saving effects for every technologies in existing pilot buildings A more clear technology roadmap to achieve NZEB that covers different climate zones

Future Plan : APEC Nearly (Net) Zero Energy Building Best Practices and Energy Reduction Results Comparative Study Focus on more information collection and analysis of Pilot Projects Best Practices and design target & operation result of NZEB in APEC regions (And why there is a gap between them) Technology roadmap for each climate zone among APEC. Discussed during 44 th EGEEC meeting; Endorsement by EWG during 48 th meeting ; Concept Note now under evaluation, APEC Session 1,2015.
