2. Enterovirus-D68 is just one of the many strains of enterovirus. It is another problem, along with Ebola, that is very dangerous for mankind. Many cases have been reported for children who get this disease. And there have been deaths…

3. Article #1 October 30,2014 Article #1 was very detailed. It explained how Entrovirus- D68 may now be the cause of another threat. There have been cases about viral meningitis outbreaks in Maryland. (Meningitis is a condition that can lead to convulsions and death. It may include headaches and fever). Some cases were at the University of Maryland. Students have told that they are scared right now because danger is lurking right inside their campus. Agencies are now stating that the cases were probably due the Enterovirus-D68. There is a possibility though, that it may be due to another strain of the virus. The good news is that, the threat is not bacterial meningitis, which is much more dangerous. The bad news that can be received from reading this article is that, the big problem of Entrovirus-D68, is now causing even more chances of suffering and death.

4. Article #2 The second article was very interesting to read. It included some symptoms and ways to prevent it. People with asthma are having a difficult time with this outbreak. It was first seen in the 1960’s and now has returned. In many cases, this virus can cause difficulty in breathing. That is what makes this outbreak a huge danger to people who have asthma. This article also discussed 6 fast facts on the topic of this major disease. Some were about the spread of the virus, it’s possible end, and precautions that parents can take.

5. Comparison Article #1 Article #1 was detailed and contained interviews from people who were near the site of the cases. This article provided a video. It had news on how agencies are now on the case. Article #2 Article #2 was more informative on the virus itself and precautions to take. This article stressed the fact that this old virus is coming back now. This article also provided a video. And to top it off, it included 6 facts that tell a bit more about the virus, what parents need to know, and how this virus may have rose this time.

6. Final Choice In the end, I think that article #2 was better. It focused on the virus itself, the effects of it, and methods of prevention. It was also easy to understand and provided a clear explanation of the situation at hand. Article #1 focused too much on a specific case, and mostly described how Enterovirus-D68 may be related to an outbreak of meningitis in Maryland. This article was also a bit hard to understand for a student in middle school.
