The Teen BLOCK’s Mission is to support the healthy development of young people and empower them to become leaders in the community by working to reduce risky behaviors that lead to teen pregnancy, HIV/STIs, substance use and violence in Lowell.

The Teen BLOCK works on Building… Leadership skills with teens through opportunities for civic engagement and experiential learning Opportunities for lifelong academic and career success through skill building and mentorship A Community of support and engagement through a culture that embraces mutual respect, diversity, challenge and adventure Knowledge of holistic wellness for the promotion of health choices and the reduction of risk behaviors

Youth of the Teen BLOCK Open and free to teens between 13-18 years old Average age between 15 – 17 years old Will support Teen Block graduates up to 20 years old 320 individual teens served every year Over 5,000 teens reached through outreach and community events each year 90% are students of Lowell High School Seeing a trend of referrals from surrounding towns due to the lack of services in their communities

Healthy Teens Healthy Relationship empowers teens to make healthy choices in their lives and prepares them for the transition to adulthood through fun experiential learning in school and after school settings. Workshops are focused on four domains: Teen Pregnancy Prevention, Adolescent development, Healthy Relationships and Financial Literacy. Healthy Teens, Healthy Relationship

The program is free and open to youth between the ages of 12 - 18. HTHR consists of 16 1 hour workshops which can be tailored to the needs of the group and setting. -Teen Pregnancy Prevention -Adolescent Development -Healthy Relationships -Financial Literacy Healthy Teens, Healthy Relationship

Participants will learn information and skills needed to form healthy relationships. Participants will improve financial literacy through learning about and gaining new skills related to budgeting, credit, and loans. Participants will gain communication, conflict resolution and healthy coping skills. Participant will gain information and skills needed to protect themselves from pregnancy and STDs.
