UNIT 1 Definition: A number that is the same distance from 0 on the number line, but in the opposite direction. Model: +3 is the additive inverse, or opposite, of -3 -3 is the additive inverse, or opposite, of +3 Additive inverse

UNIT 1 Definition: Definition: This property states that you can add or multiply regardless of how the numbers are grouped. In other words, if you are adding or multiplying it does not matter where you put the parenthesis. Model: (2 x 3) x 4 = 2 x (3 x 4) Associative Property
