4. Welcome to Seventh Grade Science Grades: All grades will posted on Genesis. Please check Genesis often. Great effort will be made to post assignment grades as quickly as possible Textbook: We use 4 textbooks throughout the school year. The textbooks do have an online component, such as review quizzes and some select video, but does not have the actually text available online

Grading Policy POINTS GRADING SYSTEM –Each assignment/test/project/etc., will be assigned a certain number of points. –It is impossible to give an accurate percentage breakdown of Homework/Projects/Tests until the marking period is closed QUIZZES and TESTS –All tests will be announced and students will be given study guides. –Quizzes may be given at any time with or without notice. –All quizzes and tests must be completed in pencil (with an eraser) or erasable pen. –All tests are worth 100 points. All quizzes will vary in point value. PROJECTS/ACTIVITIES –Projects will be assigned throughout the year. Point value will vary. CURRENT EVENTS - About every 2-3 weeks students must choose a scientific article and write a review - The review is 2 paragraphs and must include a copy of the article - They are usually typed (does not have to be) and are worth 25 points each HOMEWORK AND CLASSWORK –Homework and Classwork will be graded—point values vary. Assignments will vary throughout the year. –Points will be removed for late assignments – 20% of the total amount –Any and all late assignments will be accepted PREPARATION –Around 50 points per marking period will be awarded for preparation. COMPUTATION OF GRADES –Overall Average = Earned Points ÷ Total Points –A=100-90B=89-80C=79-70D=69-60F=59 or lower
