3
www.bksv.com, 3 Metadata There are default meta data fields to edit – as examples Metadata fields are retained across different Project Templates Metadata fields can be different for different user logins Several Types: Pick List, Text, Numeric, and Index Metadata fields are searchable from the archive list. Metadata are text or numbers, which are easily set and changed using the keyboard or selected from a user-defined pick list. The metadata are stored together with the measurement on the project.

www.bksv.com, 5 Annotations Text, Voice or Image (2270 Only) Copy and Paste from another Job You can add many to a project Some applications allow position or time based annotation Can be added from Explorer to already saved jobs Hover over pop up in Archive List view Special GPS Text Note
6
www.bksv.com, 6 Project Templates There are default Templates to get you started Templates can be modified and saved with new names Your favorite Templates can be placed on the Quick Tab (edit mode ) You can add annotations = note, voice and/or image to templates When you Open a previously stored measurement from Explorer the Project Template comes with it. Templates are saved in the Archive in BZ5503 when the archive is created Setups used in Templates can be password protected A Project Template contains all the common display settings and measurement setups required to perform a noise measurement. The template does not contain any measurement data – this data is saved as individual projects, stored in job folders

www.bksv.com, 7 Timers The purpose of a timer is to initiate measure- ments in the absence of an operator Each of the (up to ten) timers will 1. Switch on the analyzer at a preset time 2. Load a preselected template 3. Start a measurement as specified in the template 4. Stop the measurement after a preset time defined by the Timer Setup 5. Save the measurement 6. Switch the analyzer off 7. Repeat the above a preset number of times at preset intervals For a timer to work, the analyzer must be in the ‘switched off’ state A timer will never interrupt the analyzer if it is already in use manually, If a switch-on time is during the time the analyzer is in use, the timer opportunity is lost

www.bksv.com, 8 Summary Now we have looked at several ways to uniquely optimize your 2250 or 2270 for the measurements you need to perform by: 1. Setting up Metadata before a measurement task 2. Using Annotations to help document your measurement 3. Customizing your Project Templates (Set-ups) 4. Using your templates in timer controlled measurements
