3 Eastern Towhee It makes the sound of its name, tow-hee. Its feathers are orange, white and black. Its beak is straight like a spear. Its feet are perfect for perching. It eats seeds, fruit, insects, spiders, sow bugs and acorns. It makes its nest on the ground. It lays 4-6 eggs.

4 Cool Facts The female will fan her tail feathers out to scare you away. The Towhee can make a lot of sounds. The male has a pretty orange stripe down his body.
