Research! (10) Part II: Before beginning our research, we want to focus on what we hope to find out. We need a strong RESEARCH QUESTION… Criteria for success: Not too broad (you aren’t writing a whole book ) Not too specific (you are writing more than a few sentences) Asks a “WHY” or “HOW” question (You want an interesting topic that teaches something new) Allows you to show your research but also take a position I can answer this question with a few days of research and a 5 paragraph essay

These questions in RED are GOOD, not too broad or too specific, they do not have a simple right or wrong answer but ask WHY and HOW, they allow you to share your research and also take a position, and there is enough to say to complete a 5 paragraph essay.
