Packing LAYERS No big bulky jackets or pants General rule, if you have to question yourself on the choice, leave it at home. Host family will do laundry for you. Pack enough for two weeks, as laundry gets done seldom. You will need to bring a pair of jeans and close toed shoes for certain excursions. Weather won’t range much. Expect 50’s to 70’s whole time we are there, plan accordingly. No spaghetti straps, strapless, see-through.
10
Communication Phone Options: – Local Phones are only about $30 for load- able phones. This is the best route to go. – Local Sim card is needed if you plan on calling your host family – Viber and WhatsApp are good options – Facetime for iPhones The school, your home, and many public access points around the city to access wifi.
11
Money, Passport, Visas You should bring what you feel comfortable carry around. Bills need to be smaller than $50. You should have at least $50 US Dollars converted when/before leaving ATMs will be available to you, but you might be better off converting else where due to international charges. Passports are necessary in order for you to get into and leave the country. Make sure it’s valid for 6 months after departure. ALWAYS have a copy of your passport on your person. Visa are not necessary. However, they do make life easier abroad. Bring copies of everything! Your passport, ID, insurance, and tickets. Copies are better to lose than the real things.
