2 Battle of the Books  Battle of the Books is a fun competition where kids in 5 th grade read books from a list of 40 books.  Teams are created from the people that volunteer to participate. Each team has five people.  At the competition, three judges ask questions in different ways about the different books on the list to each of the teams. Then they judge the answer to be correct or incorrect. If correct, the team receives one point. The team with the most points at the end of the competition wins.

3 P.E. Intramurals  P.E. intramurals are after-school activities where the participants play a sport like volleyball or kickball with the other participants.  The sports played in intramurals are usually the same sports as the ones played in the P.E. class, but the intramurals let you have more time to actually play.

4 Choir  Choir is a fun before school activity where students from grades 3-5 learn extra music.  Choir usually learns songs that they sing at assemblies.  Sometimes, choir gets to put on a play for the school.

5 Chess Club  Chess club is held Tuesday mornings.  Sometimes we have a tournament or we just play chess.  There are different tables for different skill levels.  It is a great place to develop your existing chess skills, or learn how to play for your first time.

6 JOOI Club  JOOI club is an organization that helps many people.  They often organize fundraisers or food drives for the poor and needy.  Sometimes they will clean up around our school or in a park.  JOOI club is a great place to make friends and help people.

7 Recorder Ensemble  Recorder ensemble is a club for music where students get to try all sorts of different sizes of recorders.  Some recorders are as small a twig or as big as an oak tree branch.  They often have assemblies.  Recorder ensemble is a great place to make friends and learn how to play an instrument.
