9 Dissertation Prospectus Development of a pre-licensure review course for EMT graduates at Northern Maine Community College

10 Potential Outcomes Long term -Contributes to solving a chronic problem of low pass rates on the EMT licensure examination -Assists with assuring ongoing program accreditation -Aids in improving program retention Immediate -Improves knowledge of prospective test takers -Assists in predicting success on the NREMT examinations -Improves test taking skills

11 Scientific Merit This study is worthwhile and valuable to complete because: -No primary research has been completed looking at the use of review courses to improve pass rates on EMS licensure examinations, though many other professions have studied the topic. -Few action science/ action research EMS studies have been done- this will contribute to the ever-expanding number of action research studies. -The implementation will result in improved delivery of the EMS program, with the potential of improving pass rates for graduates

12 Thank you Capella University faculty for their positive role modeling, caring and responsiveness. Capella University staff, particular the academic counselors, technical support, financial aid, and library staff. The EMS faculty and leadership at Northern Maine Community College My friends and family
