8. Exercise Design "The Atlanta Story" for the exercise is... "The Atlanta Story" for the exercise is... –Two terrorist incidents on highways around Atlanta and one on I-20 near Newton. –Terrorist related and while there is no initial indication that this is the case, there are several hundred citizens who are poisoned and contaminated by these events. –The "accidents" that occurred involved tanker trucks and several automobiles. Fire and Police responded to the scene and some of them became contaminated rescuing individuals from the crashes. –Patients are transported to the nearest hospitals by EMS and some subsequently reported to other hospitals on a walk-in basis The numbers eventually overwhelmed the nearest Atlanta Metro Hospitals and additional injured had to be rerouted to mutual aid facilities. –Unique modeling of hospital specific conditions

10. DPH Atlanta Metro Exercise Logistics Track FULL SCALE FUNCTIONAL EXERCISE April 17th. FULL SCALE FUNCTIONAL EXERCISE April 17th. –Hospital Controllers/Evaluators report at 7am to EOC –Meet with UGA Lead Controller---one assigned as a lead to each Lev 3 Hospital. At some hospitals, other evaluators from UGA by function. –Play begins at 8AM and ends at 12PM –Hot wash with Hospitals from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM with –Evaluators and Controllers participate (facilitated by UGA Lead Controller) –All typewritten materials (EEG’s, hot wash notes, etc. to UGA by 4.24 COB. Non-typewritten or tardy reports will not be accepted as complying with exercise requirements.
