The current situation of high fill rates, particularly in Ku-band, will change. C-band fill-rates will be particularly hit and operators should avoid adding capacity to this band. Ka-band satellite capacity will almost triple from 2003 to 2009 while demand will be slow to catch up. While video remains the backbone of the business, corporate networking offers the fastest growth. Growth in the demand for satellite capacity from government and military sectors will offset stagnant demand from other sectors.
