When you look at a process with an eye for waste, new opportunities present themselves all the time. This template and tool allows you to clearly identify the type of waste observed in a given process. Why use & benefits: When used properly, the Types of Waste template will provide a structured document to draw out opportunities for improvement. While value stream mapping can provide a similar perspective, this tool will allow for quick and easy documentation of where the current state process falls short. How to use: This tool is very versatile. It is most effective when used in a direct observation scenario. A member, or members of the improvement team should go to Gemba and record observations.
