10 Resume Important to highlight student activities beyond what the application requests. Templates are in your Naviance account under the About Me tab. May be uploaded with some online applications. Counselors can help you with this process. Your resume is a live document that can continually be revised

11 The Common Application www.commonapp.org Hundreds of schools accept the same Common Application Saves you time entering in demographic and repeat information Must link your CommonApp account with your Naviance account through the CommonApp site! RECOMMENDATION: Keep all Naviance and CommonApp passwords saved in your phone.

12 Selective Service System It is the Law Virtually all male U.S. citizens, regardless of where they live, and male immigrants, whether documented or undocumented, residing in the United States, who are 18 through 25, are required to register with Selective Service. STUDENT FINANCIAL AID Men, born after December 31, 1959, who aren't registered with Selective Service won't qualify for federal student loans or grant programs. This includes Federal Pell Grants, Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants (FSEOG), Direct Stafford Loans/Plus Loans, National Direct Student Loans, and College Work Study. 20 Colleges to which I am applying It is vital that you not add colleges to list of applying to/request transcripts until AFTER YOU HAVE APPLIED TO THE SCHOOL

23 If you have applied to a CommonApp school, you must match your Naviance account to your CommonApp account by entering your email address. ** be sure to enter the same email you used for the CommonApp**

24 If you have applied to a Common App school, YOU MUST indicate whether or not you have used the Common App to apply. CLICK ON ‘UNKNOWN’ to select yes or no

26 1.You will need to approach your teacher face-to-face and ask them to write you a recommendation letter 2.Once teacher has agreed, send request via Naviance

27 Letters of Recommendation After you have asked a teacher for a letter of recommendation in person, you must follow up with them in Naviance. It is vital that you specify where you want each teacher to send their letter For example: Dear Mr. Walton, Thank you for agreeing to write one of my college recommendation letters. Can you please send your letter only to the following schools: Villanova, Pitt, University of Maryland and College of Charleston?

28 1.Once teacher has agreed, send request via Naviance by selecting the teacher from the drop down list. 2.Type your personal note to the teacher. 3.The note will be emailed to them directly. 4.Click ‘UPDATE REQUEST at bottom of screen

Panel of college admissions representatives will include West Chester, University of Pennsylvania, University of Delaware, Lehigh University, Montgomery County Community College, St. Joseph’s University, and Penn State. Please plan on attending with your parents!
