CONTRACEPTIVES Artificial methods or techniques use to prevent pregnancy as a result of sexual intercourse.

OBJECTIVE By the end of today, I will be able to explain how various forms of contraception prevent the male and female reproductive systems from fertilizing an ovum.

CONTRACEPTIVES Many forms of contraception require a doctor’s prescription. Exceptions include: male and female condoms, sponges, and emergency contraception

CONTRACEPTIVES Contraceptives do not prevent the contraction of STIs (sexually transmitted infections) or HIV Male condoms are the only form of contraception proven to prevent STIs

CONTRACEPTIVES JIG-SAW You will work in groups to answer: Where does this form of contraception work? How does this form of contraception work (give a brief description of the key points)? Is there any important information about the time frame of this contraceptive or other pertinent information about how it is used? How effective is this form of contraception?
