3. CONTRACEPTIVES Artificial methods or techniques use to prevent pregnancy as a result of sexual intercourse.

4. OBJECTIVE By the end of today, I will be able to explain how various forms of contraception prevent the male and female reproductive systems from fertilizing an ovum.

5. CONTRACEPTIVES Many forms of contraception require a doctor’s prescription.  Exceptions include: male and female condoms, sponges, and emergency contraception

6. CONTRACEPTIVES  Contraceptives do not prevent the contraction of STIs (sexually transmitted infections) or HIV  Male condoms are the only form of contraception proven to prevent STIs
