3 PURPOSE  Give students a genuine opportunity to put use their French conversational skills in a real context  Provide understanding of Quebec culture through a variety of learning experiences  Provide a blend of Educational, Cultural and Physical activities.  Interactive, hands-on Nature and Culture program.

9 ITINERARY  Flight Vancouver-Montreal (Saturday April 30 th )  Auberge bus from Montreal airport to Valcartier  Quebec City and surrounding areas  Montreal  Flight Montreal-Vancouver (Saturday May 7th)

10 Quebec Monitors  Native Speakers  Prominent Professionals  Deliver Enriched Cultural/Educational experience  On call the entire duration of program 24/7

11 QUEBEC CITY AREA  Observatoire Capitale  National Assembly  Citadel  Historic Plaines d’Abraham  Basilique Ste-Anne  Cabane a sucre  Montmorency Falls  Old Quebec  Wendake (Huron Village)  Cirque de Quebec

12 NATURE ACTIVITIES  Various outdoors activities  Hike in park  Survival Skills  Shelter Building  Campfire  Astronomy  Local Fauna/Flora

13 Evening with our Pen-Pals if possible!  This depends on the numbers of students going and the availability of students from Ecole Mont-Saint Sacrement

14 AUBERGE ACTIVITIES  Quebec Cultural Workshops  Gym Games ( 2 gyms/climbing wall)  Computer Lab (2-3 evenings)  Movie Night  Cultural Evening with pen-pals  Grand Salon Activities

15 CULTURE - MONTREAL  Guided Tour of Montreal  Centre des Sciences  Musée Pointe-a-Callière  Cabaret du Roy

16 EXPECTATIONS  Speak French at all times  Student MUST WANT to take part!  Must follow rules of Auberge  Must wear Name Tags at all times off campus and school shirt on travel days  Digital cameras for photos (no phones)  Cell phones collected after arrival at YUL Montreal  Given cell access during certain evenings for specific periods of time for calling home  Maple Creek Behaviour expectations applies  Ambassadors for School, Community, Province

17 Student Behaviour  Ability to Self-Regulate is a must  Listening/following instructions  Following rules of Auberge/different sites  Inability can be inpedement to self/other students/adults on the trip/sites visited  Not yet able – wait for high school where more opportunities will be provided

18 ESTIMATED COST APPROXIMATELY: $ 2,300.00 (Will know in fall) THIS INCLUDES:  Return flight (Vancouver-Montreal- Vancouver)  Return bus trip (Montreal-Valcartier- Montreal)  All field trips  All meals  Accommodation at Auberge  One night at Montreal hotel

23 Quebec 2016 We are ambassadors!  Represent school and province while off campus  Expected to:  Speak in French  Display best behaviour  We don’t want to send someone home at parents’ expense

24 Payment schedule  First: $700.00 - Monday, November 16 th  Second: $700.00 – Monday, February 15 th, 2016  Final: Friday, April 1 st, 2016  (Amount to be determined depending on the variables: final airfare and fees, sweatshirts, id cards, no. of TOC’s needed, etc.)

25 Payments must be given to Mme Burdock in her hands only!  Mme Burdock is managing the financial aspect of the Quebec 2016 trip and cheques/money MUST only go to her.  Room 101 bottom floor  CANNOT BE GIVEN TO ANY OTHER TEACHERS OR TO THE OFFICE!
