Scheduled for 8:30, but can play later if agreed by captain’s before game; turf end times are fixed, so if still playing, hard cap in effect Play until 17 points (unless agreed by captain’s before game to play longer); have to win by 2, up to a maximum of 19 points

Spirit Committee Message What is the TUC Spirit Committee?
9
Spirit of the Game Higher Ideals than Winning 1. Mutual Respect between players 2. Adherence to the agreed-upon rules, (Integrity) 3. Basic Joy of playing
10
The objectives of the Spirit of the Game (SOTG) scoring sheet are: 1. Educate players on what Spirit of the Game is 2. Help teams to improve specific parts of their Spirit 3. Celebrate SOTG by awarding a prize to the team that gets the highest score
11
Tell your players to use the BE CALM strategy Breathe: don’t react straight away Explain: what you think happened Consider: what they think happened Ask: other players for advice/perspective/rules if needed Listen: to what everyone has had to say Make: a call loudly and clear
12
Please choose a player to be your team’s Spirit Captain. Someone who knows the rules well and can remain calm in game situations.
13
"I can't play being mad. I go out there and have fun. It's a game, and that's how I am going to treat it." Ken Griffey Jr., Former MLB Superstar

Review of League Format Fields for 2016: See TUC Field List for fields and divisions. Note certain fields are available only on certain nights Fields are distributed fairly across divisions. We already know that you want to play downtown/near a subway line/on premier fields! Requests for very lesser desired fields (i.e. northeast) are feasible (please contact your volunteer league convener) Accept what you get. If you start with a few ‘bad’ ones, chances are good ones will follow and vice versa – it will all even out in the end. Everyone gets their share of both Read your field instructions and adhere to them Use field map features and permits Bring your own cones to set up your end zone; have a system to keep score during the game!
