Aim of the DofE Expedition Section To inspire young people to develop initiative and a sense of adventure and discovery, by planning, training for and completing an adventurous journey as part of a team. Benefits sharing responsibility, teamwork, leadership, self-reliance, overcome challenges, decision-making, manage risk, learn new skills.

Oakgrove School Bronze Expeditions 2016 Saturday 10 th Sept Pre-expedition training day - School Sat 24 th – Sun 25 th Sept Practice Expedition – Nr School Sat 8 th – Sun 9 th Oct Qualifying Expedition – Nr School Attendance is compulsory. Attendance isn’t enough. You need to successfully complete each section.

Waterproofs Both a waterproof jacket AND trousers are essential They MUST be waterproof! Taped seams – to stop water leaking through Jackets MUST have a hood

Mobile Phones Yes – for your safety! Fully charged but switched off – only for emergencies In suitable waterproof bag – don’t rely on jacket pockets!
