Picture and Texts: Aslam is the tallest boy in the class. No other boy in the class is as tall as Aslam. Aslam is taller than any other boy in the class.

There are three kinds of degree/ comparison of adjective or adverb. They are----- 1.Positive degree, 2.Comparative degree and 3.Superlative degree.

Today’s Lesson is --------------------------- Comparison of adjective and adverb and we all discuss about how to transform from Superlative to Positive.

Learning out come: End of the lesson the students will be able to change into positive from superlative.

Follow the rules and examples: Rule-1: Structures: Superlative: Subject + verb + the + superlative form of adjective/ adverb. + the rest part of the sentence. Positive: No other + the rest part of the sentence after adjective + verb + as /so + positive form of adjective + as Subject. Example: Superlative: Nazrul is the most famous poet in our country. Positive: No other poet in our country is so/ as famous as Nazrul. Rule-2: Structures: Superlative: Subject + verb + the + superlative form of adjective/adverb + of any,/ of all + the rest part of the sentence. Positive: No other + the rest part of the sentence + verb + as + positive form of adjective + as + Subjective. Example: Superlative : Nazrul is the most famous of any poet in our country. Positive: No other poet in our country is as famous as Nazrul. Superlative: Nazrul is the most famous of all poets in our country. Positive: No other poets in our country are as famous as Nazrul. Rule-3: Structures: Superlative: Subject + verb + one of the + superlative form of adjective/ adverb + the rest part of the sentence. Positive: Very few + the rest part of the sentence+ verb (plural form) + as + positive form of adjective + as + Subject. Example : Superlative: Nazrul is one of the most famous poets in our country. Positive: Very few poets in our country are as famous as Nazrul.

Individual work: Change the following sentences into positive: 1.Dhaka is the biggest city in Bangladesh. 2.He is the best boy in the class. 3.Karim is one of the tallest boys in the class. 4. Gold is the most precious metal. 5.Truthfulness in one of the noblest virtues in a man’s life. 6. America is the richest country in the world.

Solution: 1.No other city in Bangladesh is as big as Dhaka. 2.No other boy in the class is as good as he. 3.Very few boys in the class are as tall as Karim. 4.No other metal is as precious as gold. 5.Very few virtues in a man’s life are as noble as truthfulness. 6.No other country in the world is as rich as America.
