10
The GRE Connect Seed funding Greenwich Connect is the university's vision for learning innovation, comprising a variety of academic and administrative projects that will support the formation and growth of networks and connections between learners, graduates, faculty, peers, disciplines, research, community and industry. Greenwich Connect is a strategy for supporting engagement across the university, from new arrivals experiences through to curriculum design, learning, teaching and assessment, social interaction in and out of the classroom, infrastructure, learning spaces, post- graduation processes and alumni. Greenwich Connect seed funding was provided to NRI to support the conversion and development of MSc Food Safety and Quality Management via e learn One Adobe connect licence was provided for 12 months for this purpose
11
Our Project Seed funding awarded at a time of poor feedback from existing taught students on feedback Decided to exploit the opportunity more widely to improve feedback Types, quality and delivery
12
Our Project I had previously taught MSc entirely via DL at another academic institution Adobe linked to a visually strong and interactive VLE was what underpinned this With the focus on feedback we used the comfort of the current taught course to test it out
13
About Adobe Connect Adobe Connect Platform can be used to both facilitate and disseminate active learning sessions throughout the duration of the courses Widening participation for both tutors and participants Ensuring an active repository Providing a mechanism for on- going collaboration and feedback Multi functional platform which can be accessed and utilized with the minimum of bandwidth requirements

How it was used Used to see how feedback specifically could be enhanced Student support outside of face to face lectures also investigated Opportunities to communicate secularly or collectively – less email?

What students said “The Adobe platform provided the perfect opportunity to engage with technology which was collaborative and accessible. The fact that I could watch the sessions again and again in my own time was massively useful in supporting my professional development ” “Thank-you for the opportunity to watch the presentations this morning through a live stream. I was very happy as I managed to log on just as Erica was about to begin! It was so impressive to be able to watch the wonderful presentations and comment at the same time” “ The technology enhanced the delivery on every level. The breakout groups were collaborative and interactive and the best thing is we can revise the materials afterwards at our leisure”

What next? Continue to use the platform – NRI has purchased the licence Engage with colleagues on its use to see what problems it can solve for academics and support staff Thinking about its use to enhance recruitment messages -You can teach an old dog new tricks !! http://greenwich.adobeconnect.com/p4ryqiyvbnl/
