2 foundation degree in criminology Criminology is a broad subject area that draws on the study of crime, violence, victims, terrorism, criminal statistics and the criminal justice system. The Foundation Degree is a multi-disciplinary course that encompasses law, psychology and sociology in order to gain greater knowledge of this discipline and make informed conclusions.

6 foundation degree in criminology Work Based Learning You are expected to find your own placements, with our support. Students have successfully completed a variety of placements in the Criminal Justice environment. These have included: Shadowing a Solicitor in a Criminal Law Practice Working with Youth Offending team within a Police force Community Crime and Disorder Reduction partnership Gloucester Prison Wiltshire Constabulary The Courts Service

7 foundation degree in criminology Then ….. This may be completed in a week block, but you may work one day a week for a number of weeks. Students have also gained further experience by working as a Police volunteer and using that experience for their portfolio. The portfolio, (75%) is evidence of the placement, and includes a report of activities, with supporting documentation. Students also complete a reflective diary (25%) where they analyse their experience and evaluate their own performance.
