11 JURY OF APPEALS WWW.FHSAA.ORG Jury of Appeals: Jury members and alternates have been selected and approved by the FHSAA. Decisions of the jury are final. A jury of appeals shall serve as the final board of appeals. A head coach must first consult to the meet referee to discuss all potential appeals. If the coach feels that the terms and conditions of competition or the application of the rules have been misapplied or misinterpreted after consulting the referee, a written appeal shall be made to the jury. The referee will have the proper appeal form. Situations that are subject to appeal include, but are not limited to: Misapplication of the rules, which must be filed within 30 minutes after the announcement of event results. Correction of clerical or team scoring errors which may be corrected up to 48 hours after the end of the meet, unless another time period is specified in advance by the meet management. Correction of meet results involving an ineligible participant which may be made at any time when discovered. Failure to follow a procedure contained in the terms and conditions of competition announced in advance by the meet director to games committee. This would include such items as the time schedule, the number of qualifiers to advance, number of trials, etc. Non-appealable situations: Any judgment decision pertaining to violations or alleged violations of the rules. A decision made by the finish judges or timers that does not involve misapplication of a rule, or the terms and conditions of competition. Whether a start is fair and legal.

13 Weights and Measures Location—West side of the Field House (Garage Door) Times Friday, May 6, 2016—(9:00 AM – 3:00 PM) Saturday, May 7, 2016—(7:00 AM – 11:00 AM) *All implements must be checked-in no less than 1 hr. prior to the scheduled competition. **Pole Vault poles will be checked at the event site. 16 Failure to Participate Scratched Contestants: Entered in an event on any level If scratched from that event will be disqualified from participating in all remaining events in that meet. 19 Check-in procedures and Heat/Lane Assignments CHECK-IN PROCEDURES All running events will check-in at the clerk of the course. Jumping event competitors will check-in at the respective event site. All throwing implements will checked-in at the weights and measures area on the west side of the field house. Throwers will check-in at their respective event at the throws area outside the main competition area (Northeast of the home-side grandstand) HEAT/FLIGHT/LANE ASSIGNMENTS All heats, flights, and lane assignments are available on the FHSAA Track & Field webpage prior to the meet. 20 ADAPTED EVENTS A Boys & Girls Adapted Division will be contested for each of the current 4 Classifications Each division will score points for its class, gender and division only Wheelchair 200 meter race, Wheelchair 800 meter race, and Wheelchair Shot put. Wheelchair shot put will be divided into two (2) based on type of disability: Class 1: any disability of the lower extremities Class 2: disability that affect lower and upper extremities WWW.FHSAA.ORG

21 SPECIAL OLYMPICS UNIFIED EVENTS The FHSAA has partnered with Special Olympics Florida to provide a unique opportunity for student-athletes with intellectual disabilities to compete at the highest level of interscholastic competition in the State of Florida. In 2016, Special Olympics UNIFIED teams will compete in the 4x100M Relay and 4x400M Relay. WWW.FHSAA.ORG

22 INDIVIDUALS AWARDS CEREMONY Awards will be presented at the conclusion of each event. The Top 8 individuals in each event will be announced on the awards podium. Recipients of awards who are “no shows” could be disqualified from further competition for unsportsmanlike conduct. Recipients who are engaged in other events during awards presentation must have their awards accepted by a teammate or coach. 23 TEAM AWARDS CEREMONY At the conclusion of the Boys 1600M Relay, girls team scores will be announced. Girls’ team runner-up will be announced to receive its trophy followed by girls’ team champion. Following the girls team champion award ceremony, boys team scores will be announced. Boys’ team runner-up will be announced to receive its trophy/award followed by boys’ team champion. Each head coach and his/her team and team personnel shall approach the awards stand within 1 minute 45 seconds of first being announced. Failure to do so may subject the coach/team to unsportsmanlike penalties. WWW.FHSAA.ORG

24 OTHER ITEMS ATHLETIC TRAINING MEDIA INTERVIEWS WWW.FHSAA.ORG Medical personnel and athletic trainers will be available throughout the competition. However, teams must provide materials and taping for preventive purposes, i.e. tape, pre- wrap, etc. IMG Academy Athletic Training staff will not provide pre-event taping. After receiving their medallions, the finalists in each event will be directed to the media interview area. Head coaches and competitors may grant additional interviews at any time in the accessible areas of the venue at their discretion.
