The Hyphenated Modifier
2
Definition A hyphen between words; used as a one-thought modifier immediately before a noun.
3
Example I’d only had my license for a week when I backed my dad’s new Porsche into the neighbor’s house. When he saw the smashed rear bumper, he came towards me wearing his most intense you’ve-done- a-lot-of-dumb-things-in-your-life-kid-but- this-one-takes-the-cake glare. I laced up my running shoes and sprinted out the back door.
4
Example She’s got this blonde hair with dark highlights, parted in the middle down past her shoulders, straight as a preacher. She’s got green eyes that all guys admire, and this it’s-my-world-but-I’ll-let-you-live-in- it-for-awhile kind of attitude.
5
Example Whenever I load the washing machine unevenly, it starts wobbling and shaking during the spin cycle. The last time, it began a bowlegged, I’m-heading-out-the- front-door-and-down-the-street-to-see- my-friends kind of walk across the basement before I could rush down there and turn it off.

Now, you try! Compose two little scenarios, each containing a hyphenated modifier. Be dramatic/funny. Have a little fun!
