Yellow Journalism To get an edge on the competition, Pulitzer decided to use color in his paper and include cartoons.

Yellow Journalism The most popular cartoon was called “Hogan’s Alley” which featured a popular character called “the yellow kid”

Yellow Journalism Hearst decided to retaliate by copying Pulitzer’s new style and even hired the artist from the “Hogan’s Alley”/”Yellow Kid” cartoon to work for him and create the comic in his paper.
