Look for Key Words Cluster – Are there other projects doing what I’m doing? Can we partner on this grant? – Partnering splits the work and match requirement Replicability – Will other projects learn from what we’re doing? How will we ensure they can access our knowledge? – Reports, best practices, presentation or workshop Feedstock consumption – How will we maximize influence on the landscape? 12/10/2015 - The Watershed Research and Training Center
7
Budget and Match Requirements How much match can you raise or offer? Cash match is stronger – We knew we could get $10,000 from Sierra Nevada Conservancy and each project could raise $3,000 Total project cost – 96,000 + 24,000 = $120,000 – $120,000 *.35 = 96,000 Are you asking for something that can’t be paid for? 12/10/2015 - The Watershed Research and Training Center

Writing your application Use application template – Keep to page limits – Follow bullets – Keep the sections ordered Draft early enough to send to Larry for review Ask questions during the process Ask other projects for their applications 12/10/2015 - The Watershed Research and Training Center
