You will choose a person in the class who would you like to interview and write a biography about. You will create a list of 15 Questions to ask this person. Play the interview survivor game You will interview each other and take notes. You will write a four paragraph biography describing this person’s life. Include description of person (characterization), description of events in his/her life (plot), description of setting (where they currently live and have lived)

What are your strengths? What are your weaknesses? When and where were you born? Have you lived in Eagan your whole life? If not where else have you lived? If you were to write a headline for a newspaper story about you, what would it say? What is the most important lesson you have learned in life? What did it teach you? Describe your family, friends, pets etc. What is your earliest memory? Who is the most influential person in your life and why? Describe what would people who know you say is your best quality. Listen carefully – Most important part of interview Ask follow-up questions to take interview deeper Ask mostly open-ended questions (yes/no get short answers and aren’t helpful) Let the interviewee do most of the talking You can’t write everything down. Jot down key words and short notes that will help jog your memory later When writing your biography, ask further questions to clarify or expand article if needed.

You will describe the person you interviewed in a 4 paragraph (or more) biography. Use interview questions to guide your biography. You will describe your interviewee including their personality, thoughts or opinions about school, life, friends, where he/she grew up, family history, future goals/plans, activities, experiences, travels and anything else you would like to include.
