5.  Sophomore year ◦ Begin to build a strong GPA.  Second semester junior (at the latest) ◦ Research potential schools. ◦ Define your goals as much as possible. ◦ Prepare for entrance tests (GRE, LSAT, GMAT, MCAT).  Summer before senior year ◦ Begin work on your personal statement. ◦ Explore and narrow program choices. ◦ Research sources of financial aid.  August/September Senior year  Request information from schools or go online to learn.  Take practice tests.  Speak to faculty about recommendations.

6.  October/November, senior year  Take required standardized test.  Create your own timeline following each school’s deadlines.  Finish your personal statement.  Complete application forms, including transcripts.  Request reference letters from faculty/others.  December/January  Submit applications, be early.  February  Prepare to interview on site. Wait for news.
