1.  Define and identify the 6 traits of writing.  Review sentence fluency.  Evaluate sentence fluency in “My Life as a Movie Extra.”  Complete a diagnostic vocabulary assessment to demonstrate competency in a variety of vocabulary skills. Do you have Week 1 to turn in?

2.  Read aloud the story with your neighbor. Listen carefully to how it sounds.  How does this story sound when it’s read aloud?  What do all the sentence have in common?  On the narrative, make revisions that would combine the following sentences: ◦ I’ve been in “Mission: Impossible” and “Spiderman.” I was always just a face in the crowd.

3.  Log into the internet.  Type the following into the address bar: ◦ my.hrw.com ◦ Do not use www. Or http://  Use the username and password I gave you.  Choose the Language text.  Click on the student resource tab.  Locate WordSharp under Interactive Tutorials on the left.  Click on the Diagnostic Pretest.  Read all directions carefully.

4.  Push the Print Screen button (Prt Scr).  Minimize the Pretest.  Open PowerPoint.  Right click and paste on the empty slide.  Save As in Video—V drive. ◦ Choose student. ◦ Find reddish. ◦ Save As your name.
