WHAT DO PANDAS LOOK LIKE?WHAT DO PANDAS LOOK LIKE?WHAT DO PANDAS LOOK LIKE?WHAT DO PANDAS LOOK LIKE? PANDAS ARE RARE ANIMALS WITH BLACK AND WHITE FUR. THEY LOOK LIKE GIANT TEDDY BEARS WITH THICK FUR COATS OF ARMOR. THE AVERAGE ADULT PANDA WEIGHS ABOUT 350 LB.

WHAT DO PANDAS LOOK LIKE? CONTINUED IF THE AVERAGE ADULT STANDS ON ITS HIND LEGS IT IS ABOUT 5.5 FT. TALL. THEY HAVE VERY BIG PAWS WITH STRONG CLAWS. PANDAS HAVE A BONE ON EACH PAW INSTEAD OF A THUMB. THIS HELPS THEM GRAB THINGS. GROWN PANDAS HAVE 42 TEETH WITH STRONG MOLARS.

HOW DO PANDAS MATE? PANDA’S MATING PERIOD STARTS IN APRIL. FEMALES WILL RUB THEMSELVES ON A TREE. ALL THE MALES IN THE AREA WILL COME TO THAT TREE. IF A MALE SEES A POSSIBLE MATE HE WILL BARK, WHINE, AND HOWL FOR HER ATTENTION.

HOW DO PANDAS MATE? CONTINUED IF THE FEMALE AGREES THEY WILL MATE. IF SHE SEES A DIFFERENT MATE THE MALES WILL FIGHT UNTIL DEATH OR SERIOUS INJURY. WHEN THE FEMALE FINDS THE RIGHT MATE NEW PANDA LIFE WILL COME.

WHAT ARE SOME INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT BABY PANDAS? MOTHER PANDAS WILL FIND A HOLLOW TREE TO LIVE IN AND LINE IT WITH BRANCHES. IT TAKES ABOUT 4.5 MONTHS FOR A CUB TO BE BORN. WHEN A CUB IS BORN HE/SHE IS MOSTLY PINK WITH A LITTLE WHITE FUR.

WHAT ARE SOME INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT YOUNG PANDAS? CONTINUED THE NEWBORN IS BARELY 6 IN LONG. THEY WEIGH ABOUT THE SAME WEIGHT AS A SMALL ORANGE. This is what a baby panda looks like when he/she is born.

HOW DO PANDAS EAT? 3:00 AM IS WHEN THE PANDA IS HUNGRY. IT CAN TAKE ALL DAY UNTIL THEY ARE FULL. ADULT PANDAS EAT 20-80 LB. OF FOOD EACH DAY.

HOW DO PANDAS EAT? CONTINUED PANDAS EAT BAMBOO. THERE IS A LOT OF WATER IN BAMBOO. SO THEY DON’T HAVE TO DRINK MUCH.

WHY ARE PANDAS ENDANGERED? IN 1980 THE CHINESE GOVERNMENT AND WORLD LIFE FUND MADE A PROGRAM TO TRY AND SAVE THEM. ABOUT 1,000 PANDAS ARE LEFT. ABOUT 900 PANDAS ARE LIVING IN THE WILD.

WHY ARE PANDAS ENDANGERED? CONTINUED HUNTERS WILL KILL PANDAS FOR THEIR VALUABLE FUR. ALL PANDAS ARE OWNED BY CHINA. SO OUR COUNTRY CAN’T HELP THEM.
