Four mobile dental units –Two at the Rough Sleepers Centre (owned by Crisis) –Two at the Bermondsey Day Centre (one donated by Newham PCT, one donated by Tower Hamlets PCT) Mobile Surgeries

Treatment base teams – residential centre Treatment base teams – day centre Mobile Triage teams Cleaning and Sterilisation team Reception & Liaison team CC Dental Service Teams

Teams of four: –an operator –chairside "dirty" assistant –clean assistant –gopher Treatment Base Teams

Teams of 2-4 volunteers –Provide outreach service to guests in all other centres –Carry out basic checks on site –Disposable exam kits –Refer guests who need treatment to relevant treatment base same day Mobile Triage Teams

Rough Sleepers treatment base –0930 – 1700 hours Bermondsey treatment base –1000 – 1630 hours Mobile triage teams –1000 – 1630 hours Service times

Treat guests from residential centres –Rough Sleepers –Dependency centre –Women’s centre Guests referred by mobile triage teams from –Dependency centre –Women’s centre Afternoon sessions booked for these guests Rough Sleepers treatment base

Treat guests from day centres –Bermondsey day centre –All other day centres Guests referred by mobile triage teams from –All other day centres Afternoon sessions booked for these guests Bermondsey treatment base

Go to other centres on a rota basis Mainly morning sessions Guests are referred to relevant treatment base after lunch same day Limited number of appointments Mobile Triage teams

1. exam 2. scale and polish 3. treatment of pain - dressing of teeth 4. stabilization caries 5. simple restorations -amalgams, composites and glass ionomers 6. root canal dressings 7. oral hygiene instruction 8. simple extractions 9. incision and drainage 10. temporary crowns and recements What treatments do we provide:

1. Please follow agreed policies 2. Follow health & safety guidelines 3. Complete dental form for each guest 4. Maintain high standards in paperwork Manual in each treatment base will have a copy of the Dental Info Sheet, Protocols, CC policies & Volunteer Handbook CC Policies & Procedures

Bring a copy of most recent registration certificate/insurance to first shift Bring your own protective clothing Bring safety spectacles Bring additional layers of clothing Bring only small amounts of money Bring your sense of humour! Important points to remember
