Orthodontics : alignment or straightening of the teeth Pedodontics : dental treatment of children and adolescents Periodontics : treatment and prevention of diseases of the gums, bone and structures supporting the teeth. Prosthodontics : replacement of natural teeth with artificial teeth or dentures. Oral surgeon : surgery on the teeth, mouth, jaw, and facial bones; often called maxillofacial surgery.
