1 Major Academic Plan (MAP) Why study Applied Technology? This program is designed for students who have graduated with an associate degree in applied arts and sciences (AAAS), associate degree in applied science (AAS), associate in applied technology (AAT), associate degree in technical arts (ATA), in computer technology, electronics technology, mechanical engineering technology, civil engineering technology, drafting/design technology and similarly named programs at community colleges. This degree allows these students to continue their education by taking liberal arts courses, additional advanced technology courses and supporting courses to complete a Bachelor of Science Degree. Career Opportunities Students graduating from this program can successfully enter careers in a broad range of fields as manufacturing technicians, computer-based technical support, applications technicians, quality technicians, as well as research technicians and technical sales and service. Companies that have hired students completing the program options include the Army Corp of Engineers, Boeing, Costco, Hewlett Packard, Red Box, and others. Some students have continued their education and have secured Master’s degrees in Computer Science, Education, and Business Administration.
