Pizza & Love: Fight for the Amazonas Art of the Day Presentation

Character: The advertiser wants us to make peace with nature, and recycle trees we have already destroyed. The advertiser shows that his/her company is an example of this: “We make pizza, not global warming”

Color: Green broccoli symbolizes Amazon rainforest, the last true place of nature and life. White words show that the “last slice” of nature is pure and untouched by humans Dark brown grease stains shaped like earth’s continents symbolize that the rest of the world has already succumb to the “war on nature”, as shown by the red peace sign

Light: The light in the picture is coming from the top left corner of the picture Light represents the hope that the rainforest still has to grow, while the rest of the world does not

Angle: The angle shows that the company has nothing to hide, as they are actually recycling paper like they say they are.

Proportion: The globe is much bigger than the forest, showing its massive importance The words being large also shows that this slice is important to nature and the earth.

Placement: The globe is placed in the center, showing its importance above all things The slice of pizza is placed inside the globe, showing it and the Earth are connected in their health

Setting: This advertisement was created near the present and reflects a current problem in the world. These 2 holes represent loopholes a company uses to

CCLAPPS Analysis Character: Clearly, the people that created this advertisement care for the environment, as shown by the peace sign. The peace sign communicates to the viewer that we should make peace with the environment instead of destroying it, as cutting down new trees can be prevented if we recycle the paper from the ones we have already cut down. Color: The green broccoli on the pizza symbolizes the largest rainforest in the world: the Amazon Rainforest. The green represents that this is the only true area of nature and life left in the world, as shown by the dark brown grease stains that are the rest of the planet. The white color of the words “fight for the last slice” symbolize that this slice of land in the Amazon rainforest is the last remaining place that is still pure and mostly untouched by humans. The advertiser believes that the “war” against nature should stop and they will fight for it, as should by the red of the peace sign. The red shows that we should fight for peace for nature. Light: The light in the picture is coming down from the top left onto the pizza representing the Amazon rainforest. This shows that the area of land represented by broccoli still has hope and can grow bigger is we don’t fight it. The light is darker the further you travel from the pizza. This symbolizes how long the society in the eastern hemisphere has been cutting down trees, while the western hemisphere has only been unpurified in the last few centuries compared to years. Angle: The picture is taken from straight in front of the pizza box showing that the company has nothing to hide. Proportion: The whole world, represented by the grease stains, is larger than the piece of pizza, showing that more than just this one forest is at stake. If we lose the Amazon, then there will be a lot more carbon dioxide in the air, affecting the entire planet. Also, the words “Fight for the last slice” are very large, showing that “the last slice” is very important to nature. Placement: The Earth is placed in the center, showing that it is the most important thing to humanity. Next, the pizza is placed inside of the Earth and is a very large part of it, showing that the Amazon rainforest is important to the health of the earth. The peace sign being in the corner symbolizes that no matter if humanity is at war or at peace, it is insignificant to the Earth. Setting: This advertisement was released near present and shows the necessity to conserve our natural resources. The two holes in the box represent the loopholes that lumber companies use to cut down trees in protected areas, like the Amazon rainforest. These loopholes have caused a lot of destruction in South American wildlife’s habitats and released tons of carbon dioxide into the air.
