Process to achieve target – Employee Engagement driven by the Earth Day Team. Team consists of employees throughout the organization and drives communication, promotes awareness and education, and strives to engage employees in the EMS. Team developed plan for hosting HMTC’s sixth annual Earth Day event with a goal to engage everyone at HMTC in the Zero Landfill objective.

Corning Optical CommunicationsCorning Public9 Zero Landfill Challenge Introduced: HMTC’s Zero Landfill Challenge – “Think Outside the Dumpster” This challenge is for ALL employees at HMTC –Employees participate with “Zero Landfill Challenge” Submission Form –Recognize employees throughout the year –Environmental Team drives the program.

Diverted 2,574,670 pounds of waste from the landfill through recycling, generating over $500,000 through revenue and landfill cost avoidance.
