2. Guggenheim Family  Benjamin Guggenheim is one of eleven children of Meyer Guggenheim.  Due to this, museums and companies with the name “Guggenheim” are not directly referring to him.  Five children grew up and became involved with the family business.  The family business involved the American Smelting and Refining Company.  This company allowed the Guggenheim name to become so prominent.

3. Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum  The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum is located in New York City.  This museum was funded by Solomon and established in 1937.  The museum continues to grow and feature new exhibits each year.

4. Peggy Guggenheim Collection  The Peggy Guggenheim Collection is located in Venice, Italy.  Peggy lived here, and after her death the Solomon Collection transformed her house into a modern art museum.  The museum was established 11 years after Peggy’s death in 1951.

5. Guggenheim Museum Bilbao  The Bilbao Museum is one of the newer Guggenheim Museums from the Solomon Collection.  This Museum has a modern look and the exhibits attempt to connect art, architecture, and collecting.  Since 1997, this museum has tried to change the way people think about art.

6. Abu Dhabi Guggenheim Museum  This museum is the newest museum sponsored by the Solomon R. Guggenheim Collection.  Architect, Frank Gehry, designed this museum and the one in Bilbao. Both feature a modern and advanced look.

7. Guggenheim Partners  This is an investment company that is involved with capital market services, investment banking, and investment management.  The company has over $220 billion in assests under management.  It was founded by Peter Lawson-Johnston II, Solomon R. Guggenheim's great-grandson.

8. Guggenheim Family Tree  The Guggenheim family will live on for many years to come due to the drastic impact they have left and the many collections that have been founded.
